Rockband 2 drumsets returned 2x (out of ...

ok so this is how my sunday started,After spending a good deal of the day playing RB2 with my new RB2 drumset on saturday I was in heaven.
I noticed that night that the game started to ignore my hits or so I thought.
Sunday morning I wanted to jam some so I tried out the drum trainer to find out when i hit any pad the blue light would
light up as if i had hit both pads at the same time and this would happen randmomly. So I did what anyone who just spent almost 100 dollars on a product would.
I called Gamestop. They told me they do not handle returns on RB2 hardware. So i grabbed that red piece of paper and called.
The guy I talked to from EA told me to place a sock over the pad. ??WTF
I told him I called gamestop and he said go back and demand to speak with the manager. Well I did and I got fully refunded because they didnt have any to replace mine with anyways. So I took my money and drove all over town looking for another set. Well i found it over the river 20 miles from my house and the only one in stock. I get back to my house and to my suprise this one is even worse than my last. This set registers the yellow everytime i hit the blue nothing random about it... its everytime. So pissed I called blockbuster... they reminded me i bought the last one in stock and the manager told me they do not have any return/replace policy on the drumset ... he said ''you open it ... its yours'' so im currenly waiting on my EA coffin for the pads :(Picture of RB forumsRockband 2 drumsets returned 2x (out of ...
Wow, sad story. Last time I buy from blockbuster.Rockband 2 drumsets returned 2x (out of ...
yea it might be a good idea to check on product availiblity and the return policy .... a friend of mine that works for babbagges said they have a 1 in 3 faulty ratio at thier store :( how sad.. maybe i should have waited on the GH4 drumset

But you should never do business with GameStop. Not their fault that your drums died, I know. But you are giving your money to one of the worst customer service businesses in the game.
Wow, sad story. Last time I buy from blockbuster.
I manage a competitor store from BB and we do the same thing, the reason being the amount of people who buy stuff then try to return it, you'd be surprised how many people do it. Our policy is if it's a Previously Viewed/played product we for sure take it back since we're liable for that but anything new is not our fault, it's the manufacturer so it's up to them to take care of it. Even if I had another set I wouldn't do a exchange for him, I'd refer him back to the pink slip that comes in the box specifically saying 'if it's defective don't return to store'
im not blaming blockbuster or gamestop in any way at all... I used to manage a department store so I know how people can take advantage of return policies. And there usually needs to be a line drawn somewhere. I have no problem at all waiting on EA to send my RMA.... it just kinda sucks that I got 2 defective sets in a a row. And if anyone is at fault here it would be the drum manufacturer. There should be no excuses why 2 defective sets were purchased back to back. I could see a 1 in 5 case or 1 in 10 but a 2 out of 2 defective rate ?? hmmm
ya, ive read tons of issues with the RB2 drumkit...especially with crosstalking (other pads signaling when they're not hit)Im currently still using my RB1 drums and will continue to for a long while...at least until the RB2 drums drop to $50 ($90 from $45 is a severe jump in price from RB1 to RB2). Sure, my bass pedal is currently taped because its broken...but i can manage.
yea my rb1 set was in the same shape.... if you can figure out how to reassemble it duct tape works wonders.... Its held my RB1 pedal together since I rigged it lol
yea i got my RMA drums today after returning 2 sets only to have to wait on EA's rma anyways... noticed some key improvements already... one the pipes fit more snug in the feet... they are actually a little larger to reduce vibration... the battery compartment is entirely different with spacers and actual rubber on the cover and not the foam type stuff so this is probably in response to the controller d/cing from the xbox after days of use jarring the batteries loose.... looks like they addressed most concerns before sending out rma's .... not really that they were ever out of em but i think they spent some time to get the sets right before sending them out... my old set was a 22808SL (inside battery on cover) and the new set with major improvements has no number on it so i uploaded some pictures for compairison http://www.duproductions.net/images/rb2drumsrma.jpgbtw you can slam on these bad boys with no crosstalk or having to worry about batteries coming loose :)
Wow it hasn't been a month since Rock Band 2 release and they already have a new set for RB2 drums? I bought RB2 on the release date and bought the Drums the day after and mine work fine. Nothing wrong with them I noticed your pic with your defective ones and the New Drums. and wow they DID improve on them. The only thing that bugged me about the new drum set was even though they added padding to the drums they still felt kinda hard and felt rough. So I added the drum silencers from RB and they actually improved the drums. So I guess for those who wonder if the Drum silencers work on the RB2 set. it does AND it does not ruin the sensetivity of the drum heads. I spent about 3 hours trying to convince myself to add the Pads by testing them out with anf without the pads.

There are also really really good ones.As for the drumset this seems to be a frequent thing with the rb2 drumsets. i've done about 6 returns on the new set. I even tested one out and found that every time i hit the blue pad it would trigger the yellow pad. Seems really crappy. I'll stick with my RB1 drumset for now.
