I was a Halo fan since the first game, and now im throwing away the helmet. Halo 3 is the biggest let down to one of the best series.Halo 1 was named combat evolved, and it delivered everything its name promised. It was the first great console shooter in my opinion, had everything from a good single player campaign, multiplayer and the visuals to match. Halo 2 kept this up with better multiplayer features, dual welding, improved graphics on the same hardware, and still a very decent single player campaign. It introduced the arbitor and let you in on his story. Very cool indeed.Halo 3 did not match up to the first two games in any aspect. Single player campaign is abysmal. There are only a few good missions, and you can name them on your first three fingers. For every other mission, it was basically, find this, get to this point, and watch the cutscene so the story can progress. They made an entire mission on helping allied soldier escape?!! This is Halo 3, ther universe is about to explode. Where did story progression go? Did Bungie developers sudddenly catch down syndrome? There were so many opportunities for Halo 3 to be a good game, and Bungie failed to catch any of them. What the hell happened to the arbitor. Bungie introduced the coolest character next to master chief and just abandonned it. They could have easily diversified game play and expand on the story. There are no other compelling characters other than cortana and truth, and truth isnt even focused on until he dies. The new combat features are pathetic, the only cool feature is ripping a turret off. And this is suppose to make up for a covoluted story, poor level design and horrible graphics? There were portions of the game where I really thought I was playing halo 2 again. There were improvements in lighting and character modeling, but they're ruined by horrible jaggness. Halo 3 released in 2007! Alongside Gears of War! Multiplayer and the forge is Halo 3's only saving grace. But this is not excusable. Bungie should have just charged 30 dollars for a new multiplayer halo game. Edit: Hopefully you didnt get sucked into fanfarism, and realize that I was comparing Halo 3 with its predecessors and saying how the campaign failed in comparison. Halo 3 A Huge Disappointment.
horrible graphics!? are you blind?! the graphics are better than any halo game before it, and better than most games to date. You need to take a step back, and look at the game as a whole, instead of comparing it and finding every little thing to complain about. Halo 3 is a great game, one of the best yet, and if you don't agree, stop playing it. Go back to halo 2 or 1, and leave people who love halo 3 alone. The games been out for a year and your just now complaining about it? if you don't like it, play something else. simple as that.Halo 3 A Huge Disappointment.
Yes
Maybe you should post this on Bungie.net and let Shiska or Luke tear you up. Wait, they don't care either if your disappointed in Halo 3.
Your aloud to have an opinion, but leave it for the blog please.
didn't really love the story but the multiplayer is of the best I have ever played. The graphics are amazing as well...

You're welcome to your opinion, but I, and the millions of others who enjoy it, disagree. I think it's a fantastic game, and multiplayer never gets old, especially with Forge (even though it's a bit limited).
Also, would it kill you to use the search button? Believe it or not, there have been many threads like this in the year since Halo 3 was released.
That mission about saving the alied soldiers, the first one im guessing, was becuase it was sgt johnson and chief happened to crash land on that planet. The arbitor is with chief every level on co-op and has story cutscenes. The graphics are a huge leap from halo 2. Halo's missions have always been get to this point shoot stuff, and move on. Your just mad cuz it doesn't live up to your high expectations. next you will want halo to educate your kids and clean your laundry.
its all nade shoot kill in mULTIPLAYER! gets boring very fast

Yes I already said there were improvements, character modeling and lighting. Battlefields were larger, yes. When I look at the game on the whole, I notice a few gorgeous levels, and a whole lot of sub-par level design. Yes i can take the approach of just paying attention to the good parts but the bad parts are so much more overwhelming this time around. Did anyone else think Bungie could have smoothed out some of that jaggness easily. Or put slightly more details on the trees or the inside of the convenant ships. These glaring gloss overs just make me feel that Bungie did a really lazy job of passing graphics. At best I felt Halo 3 looked like a standard current gen shooter. At worst, they could have made this on the xbox. The truth is, it just felt that Bungie did not put as much effort into Halo 3 as Halo 2 or 1. You're such a halo zealot that you lost your brain. Dont you think its bad for bungie to hear all these praises from the die hard fans who obviously lost their ability to critique constructively anymore? It seems to me that the Halo community needs people who will point out where Halo 3 went wrong, so Bungie can freshen up and deliver the best next game.
opinions, opinions
indeed, plus this topic has been done over more than ''insert pron star''
I think Halo 3 was a balance between halo 1 and 2.
Halo 1 best single player of the series, good multiplayer for its time.
Halo 2 alright single player(worst of the series), great multiplayer huge improvement over the first one.
Halo 3 better single player, a step back in multiplayer imo.

THANK YOU Bungie. Now thats over. My point was on how sub par the single player was. I always felt that HALO 1 and 2 were strong titles because they offered great single player campaign outside of its godly multiplayer. Halo 3 didnt deliver at all.

opinions, opinions
indeed, plus this topic has been done over more than ''insert pron star''
Not really.Halo 3 had poor level design compared to the first two series.Halo 3 had more generic levels than the previous games.Halo 3 single player campaign offered less diversity than the previous two games. The graphics is my opinion, but honestly does no one else see how jagged the game looks?
you need to get a better tv, cause I play on a HD tv and the game is gorgeous. The campaign is great, the multiplayer is amazing, the new game machanics are always fun, and the game is all around amazing. If you want a game thats completely campaign (cause thats what you seem to be focusing on) play bioshock. Halo 3 is one of the best games I've played, and I still play it daily, a year after its release. Your expectations are way too high, and I think you should learn to enjoy the game as it is, or stop playing it.
