Assassin's Creed Ending and Q's

So, I've just completed it; its an amazing game...But the ending?!
Why...? A cliffhanger in a game?!!!!
When I first saw the modern day story thing they had going on, I was a little put off.
But after a while the story line and sub-plots were great! But does this mean an AC2?
It would be amazing; but what would it be based around? Other than the spooky markings on the wall...
And at that point, I remove myself from the storyline and characters, and towards the 'What to do next?' question. It won't let me play 'Additional memories' once i get in the ANIMUS...So what? Do I just replay older ones? I'm just looking to get the personal Vendetta achievement tbh, so I don't really mind...
Just my thoughts and Q's on a fairly old game!
:)

I'm not sure and I could be wrong, but I think that there was something said before about Assassin's Creed being part of a trilogy. Therefore there'l be two more games to follow it.
I wouldn't doubt a sequel... I hear they made more than expected on this game sales-wise.This is a great game though, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Still am, I guess.
It is going to be apart of a trilogy just like Too Human, Mass Effect and Gears of War.
AC is a trilogy. If you look around the room while playing in the modern stage you will see tons of various little clues about the story...
