From what I've read the newer models are less likely to get it, not saying that it won't but chances are better.

You were mad at a working Xbox so you sold it?I'd say it's pretty safe. My xbox is going on 2 years old now, plus there have been many different chipsets...so I'm sure the problem is much smaller than it was around launch.

The new Xbox 360 60gb pro's have the falcon chip which lowers the chance of rrod from %33 to %10. I would DEFINITELY get one, there are so many good games for 360 + the online is amazing.
