Xbox Live Not Working...

Not necessarily, I've had the XBL test fail many times when Live is fine. I hate to be so unhelpful, but just wait a while and see, usually works for me.

Sorry to say, but I just logged onto Live on my 360 and I have 8 people online on my buddy list as well.
Try calling customer support, maybe you got banned or suspended.
Apparently Xbox live is having some technical issues since the update, however, whenever that happens to me I wait a little while and then I can go online
They are having some teething problems trying to get this new dashboard update ready.
I got disconnected and couldnt get back on either so luckily it isn't just me.

Perhaps it's a problem with your router. I don't won't to tell you something that's wrong, but I thinksome routers don't support XBl, heck, there are some ISPs that don't support it. It also depends on which country you live in. Try emailing MS about it or posting on their tech support forums at [url=www.xbox.com]xbox.com[/url]. Sorry I don't really have an answer.
if your wired, turn take it out and put it back in.. always works for me.
